Bondi sukke (banana flower sukka)


This is a traditional Konkani dish. I learnt this  from my friend Ushakka.
Thanks for the healthy recipe. We all loved it very much.


 
 
 
Ingredients
Bondi (banana flower)                                 1
Grated coconut                                             1 cup
Red chillies                                                     7 to 8 as per taste
Tamarind                                                        small piece
Mustard seeds                                              1 tsp
Turmeric powder                                         ¼ tsp
Toor dal                                                          2 tbsp
Coconut oil                                                    1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method
Finely chop banana flower  and soak  in water for 10 min.
Heat oil in kadai add mustard seeds, then add washed toor dal, turmeric powder and  cook till half done. Then add chopped bondi(banana flower) and salt and  mix well.
Grind grated coconut, red chilly and tamarind into   coarse paste. Mix this paste to bondi  and  mix it well.  Cook in low flame till it becomes dry.
