“Thykilo “ is a monsoon herb found almost everywhere. Its called “Thakara” in Malayalam and “cassia
Tora” in English and “Thogatte soppu” in Kannada
Ingredients
Thykilo (thakara)
1 cup (leaf only) finely chopped
White Rice ¾ cup
Urad Dal ¼ cup
Red chilly powder
3 tsp
Grated coconut
1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method
Soak rice for 1 hour then grind along with grated coconut to
rough paste (add very little water only).
Dry roast the Urad dal till it becomes light brown and nice flavor
comes. Let it cool then powder it like
Rava. Mix the rice paste, chopped
thykilo, chilly powder, salt and the roasted urad dal powder, mix it well. Make small balls from this and
deep fry.
